Description
The Eel Lake to Indian Beach Trail accesses the Whistle Lighthouse to Dark Harbour section of the Lighthouse Trail.
The trail starts on the Eel Lake Road. This road is gated so best to park on the Whistle Road and walk in. Follow the lake road until you come to a powerline near the lake. Turn right onto another road that follows the powerline. After a turn to the right the road enters the woods on the left and continues around the lake. You will soon come to a dam/bridge on the outlet of the lake. From here you get a beautiful view of the lake, camps and surrounding hills.
Continue following this road until you come to an old road that veers off on the right. Here the old road gets quite wet and is grown in and grassy. The trail continues in the woods and just after passing through some large patches of Hay-scented ferns you will come to the junction with the Lighthouse Trail. A short distance to the right and you will come to a junction with the trail down to Indian Beach.
