Description
Note that this is a night hike, and reservations are required.
Akadi Lumina is an immersive experience that tells stories of Acadian Culture, while stimulating your senses through a multitude of light shows. As you make your way around the looped trail, you will pass by tiny, lit up houses that talk, a foot stomping dance party that you can get involved with, and several laser light shows that fill the forest with color. There are also projections that look like they float in between the trees. Our favorite was the area where the forest floor was covered in lights that looked like small mushrooms. The lights rippled across the forest floor as you walk through them. A section of rainbow lit boardwalk provides views of the lights of the Town of Bouctouche.
At the end of the trail, you come out to a bonfire area with a stage. On our visit there was a singer singing Acadian songs. You can get your picture taken next to the Akadi Lumina sign and hang out here, so the experience doesn't have to end. We love unique ways to get people out hiking in the woods at night!
