Directions

From Route 11 take exit 32 into Bouctouche. After driving through the town of Bouctouche turn right onto Route 134 and cross the bridge. After 1 km turn right into La Pays de la Sagouine. Drive straight past the main building and park in the parking lot across from the main entrance. The trail enters the woods on the right as you enter this parking lot.

To access the trail from the other end take exit 32 and turn towards Bouctouche. Take one of the first small roads on the right (Mills or Robichaud). At the end of the street turn right onto the Rue de la Riviere. Near the end of the road you will find the trail on the left.

Description

The Bouctouche Bay trail goes through fields and forests and makes its way around the inner Bouctouche Bay. There are several bridges that provide open views of La Pays de la Sagouine in the middle of the bay. The trail emerges onto a long pedestrian bridge across the bay next to the highway. Half way across the bridge is a lookout platform and benches. The beach is accessible from either end of this bridge. Look for wading birds and ducks in the bay along the beach.

After the bridge keep right and continue around the shore until you come to the end of St. Jean Baptiste Street. A short walk on this street will take you to the middle of the town.
