Description
From the Rockpile Road Trail the trail starts by following along the top of a ridge overlooking a valley that hold Crystal Lake and a powerline. At the end of the ridge the trail enters the woods before looping right and dropping down off the ridge. The trail then continues to turn right and turns back into a rocky, ravine that follows along the bottom of the ridge. After a short distance the trail pops up out of the ravine and into the powerlines right-of-way on the Crystal Lake Trail.

The stream in the ravine comes from Frying Pan Lake. The lake, the stream and the ravine follow along a geological fault line.
