The Taggarts Brook Trai starts at a beaver dam that makes a deadwater bog on Taggarts Brook. The trail crosses Taggarts Brook and then climbs a mossy hill. The trail turns right and eventually comes out at a lookout overlooking the pond and the bog.
The trail continues back in the woods and around an inlet until it comes out on the power line. From here you are once again looking out over the bog. The trail continues along the power line but we didn't go any further on our last trip.
For directions to the preserve go to the Caughey-Taylor Nature Preserve page.
The Taggarts Brook Trail can be found on the left at 400 meters in the Chickahominy Mountain Trail.
