Description
The Priceville Footbridge is not really a hiking trail but it is an interesting short walk that is easily accessible on a trip between Fredericton and Miramichi. The bridge is a cable walking bridge with a center pier and crosses the main Southwest Miramichi River. The bridge is high off the water and offers great views up and down the river. It is the longest suspension footbridge in New Brunswick at 200 m.
The Priceville Footbridge was constructed in 1938 as a single span but was destroyed in the spring of 1939, at which time three men died in what is referred to as the Priceville Footbridge tragedy. A second footbridge was built in 1939, which was replaced again in 1988. Both of these bridges had a center pier.

Directions
Coming from Boiestown on Route 8 take the McNamee Road exit on your left. Follow the McNamee Road 3.8 km and you will come to a road on your left that crosses a small field. Follow this access road across the field and after 300 meters you will come to the river and the bridge. There is plenty of room to park near the base of the bridge.
Coming from Doaktown on Route 8 take the Carrolls Crossing Road exit on your right. Follow the Carrolls Crossing road for 6 km and you will come to a road on your right that crosses a small field. Follow this access road across the field and after 300 meters you will come to the river the bridge. There is plenty of room to park near the base of the bridge.
