The easiest way to access the Sponge Bob Trail is from the parking area on Sandy Point Road between the golf course and the Cherry Brook Zoo. Walk on the Main Carriage Road Trail for 880 meters and you will find the trail on your left. It is the next trail on the left past the Heartrate Hill Trail. You can access the other end of the Sponge Bob Trail from the south end of the Owen Lake Trail.
From the Owen Lake Trail trail the Sponge Bob Trail climbs a short ridge. After the ridge the trail climbs a small, rocky hill before passing by a large hemlock tree that is growing out of the ground at an angle above the trail. The trail then drops down into a small valley before emerging onto the Main Carriage Road Trail.
