Description

The Duck Pond Multi-Use Trail is being developed to link Fox Farm Meadow at Upper Duck Pond, with Lower Duck Pond Beach and the Liberty Point Peninsula. The trail is a wide, crushed rock trail that will make it possible to loop the park by bike or on foot. The trail travels through a mostly spruce forest then emerges into a large dome bog that is up on a hill overlooking Lower Duck Pond. There are plans to build a raised boardwalk to cross the bog. As of 2023 the raised boardwalk had not yet been installed, leaving the trail from Fox Farm Meadow to end at the bog's edge. The trail from Lower Duck Pond Beach ends at the edge of the pond out in the bog.

When the trail is complete you will be able to loop the park by starting at the Visitor Centre near the bridge. Start on the Customs House Trail (on foot) or the road behind the visitor centre (by bike) to get to Fox Farm Meadow. At Fox Farm Meadow, use the Duck Pond Multi-Use Trail to get to Lower Duck Pond Beach. At Lower Duck Pond Beach you can either use the Lower Duck Pond to Raccoon Beach Trail or hike out around the Liberty Point Peninsula on the Liberty Point to Lower Duck Pond and Sunsweep Trails. From Raccoon Beach you would take the Glensevern Road back out to the highway. To complete the loop, you would take the Roosevelt Cottage Multi-Use Trail and then follow Narrows Road down around by the Mulholland Lighthouse. The Narrows Road comes out across from the Visitor Centre where you started.
