Directions

One end of the boardwalk can be accessed from the Shippagan Aquarium. From Boulevard J. D. Gauthier turn onto Rue de L'Universite. Turn right onto Avenue de L'Eglise and then turn left onto Rud de L'Aquarium and find the parking lot for the aquarium at the end of the street on the left. Near the entrance to the aquarium you will see a small dock with a lighthouse. The trail starts between the lighthouse and the aquarium.

The other end of the boardwalk can be accessed from Rue Pointe Brulee. Travel west on Boulevard J. D. Gauthier towards Haut-Shippigan and turn right onto Rue Pointe Brulee. After 100 meters you will see the entrance to the boardwalk on the right.

It is also possible to access the boardwalk at the end of several streets in between.

Description

The Sentier Rivage Trail is a long boardwalk that starts at the Acadian Lighthouse in front of the aquarium and travels for 2 kilometers along the waterfront in Shippagan. The trail offers a continuous view of the bay with several shelters and benches along the way so you can rest and enjoy the view.
